The Undip Epidemiology Master Program held an educational seminar entitled “Multisector Collaboration in Facing the Threat of Monkeypox Disease” on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 online through a zoom meeting. The event was attended by students, lecturers, and health professionals who were interested in increasing their understanding of collaborative efforts between sectors in overcoming this deadly disease.

Although there have been no cases of monkeypox in Indonesia, the virus has spread to several countries in Africa and the United States.
One of the speakers, Dr. dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, DHSM., MARS conveyed the importance of collaboration between sectors in overcoming the threat of monkeypox. “Handling monkeypox involves many aspects, including human, animal, and environmental health. Therefore, cooperation between sectors is needed to ensure effective prevention and treatment efforts,” he said.
The seminar also featured the latest research in epidemiology, including strategies to prevent and control the spread of the virus. The participants were given the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and discuss the best ways to improve preparedness in facing the threat of monkeypox.
This educational seminar is one of the efforts of Undip’s Master of Epidemiology to continue to improve the quality of graduates and contribute to public health management efforts.
