Master of Epidemiology Undip held an activity to strengthen Posbindu as an effort to detect hypertension early in Gunoharjo Village, Limbangan District, Kendal Regency on November 8, 2019. This activity was held as part of a community service program implemented by the Master of Epidemiology Study Program.

Posbindu or Integrated Service Post is one of the health programs that aims to monitor public health. Posbindu is usually implemented by health centers or clinics by involving medical officers and other health workers.

The Posbindu strengthening activity carried out by Undip Epidemiology Master Students aims to improve the quality of health services at Posbindu and increase public knowledge about hypertension. In addition, this activity also aims to increase community participation in hypertension early detection programs.

In this posbindu strengthening activity, Undip Master of Epidemiology students held various activities such as training for posbindu officers, health counseling about hypertension for the community, and free health checks for early detection of hypertension.

In her remarks, the Head of the Undip Master of Epidemiology Study Program, Dr. drh. Dwi Sutiningsih, M.Kes said that this posbindu strengthening activity is one of the efforts of the Undip Master of Epidemiology Study Program in making a positive contribution to public health. “We hope that this activity can help increase public knowledge and awareness about hypertension and encourage public participation in hypertension early detection programs,” she said.

This posbindu strengthening activity received a positive response from the community. They welcomed this activity and felt happy with the free health checks for early detection of hypertension. It is hoped that this activity can continue to be implemented to improve the quality of health services at posbindu and encourage community participation in hypertension early detection programs.
