Master of Epidemiology Diponegoro University (Undip) and the Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI) Central Java 1 initiated a collaboration held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in Soediro Room, Gd. Diponegoro University Postgraduate Program. In this collaboration initiation, the two institutions collaborated to plan and organize a talk show on the theme of rabies. This collaboration aims to increase public awareness and knowledge about rabies prevention and management, and reduce the number of rabies cases in Central Java.

Rabies is a zoonotic disease transmitted from animals to humans through the bite of infected animals, especially dogs and cats. In Indonesia, including Central Java, rabies is still a serious concern in the field of public and animal health.

Through this collaboration, the Master of Epidemiology at Diponegoro University and the Indonesian Veterinary Association of Central Java 1 seek to maximize the potential and expertise of both in the field of public and animal health. The rabies talkshow will serve as a platform to disseminate accurate and relevant information about the spread of rabies, its clinical symptoms, and appropriate prevention and treatment measures.

Dr. drh. Dwi Sutiningsih, M.Kes, Head of the Epidemiology Master Program at Diponegoro University, said, “We are very enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate with the Indonesian Veterinary Association of Central Java 1 in an effort to increase public awareness and understanding of rabies. Through this talk show, we hope to provide correct information and educate the public about the importance of protecting their pets and rabies prevention measures in general.”

The collaboration between the Master of Epidemiology at Diponegoro University and the Indonesian Veterinary Association of Central Java 1 is expected to make a significant contribution in maintaining public health and the environment, as well as improving the quality of life for the people of Central Java.
