Foreign students of the Diponegoro University (Undip) Master of Epidemiology Study Program, Saidi Ntambi, Maiga Ayub Hussein, and Lovemore Ringisai successfully completed their thesis exams. This thesis exam is an important step in their academic journey that will help them earn a master’s degree in epidemiology.

Saidi Ntambi and Maiga Ayub Hussein are from Uganda, while Lovemore Ringisai is a student from Zimbabwe. They have studied at Undip for two years in the Epidemiology master program. The thesis examination was attended by supervisors and examiners.

Lovemore’s thesis defense was held on July 5, 2023 with the title “HIV/AIDS, Nature & Determinants Of Adolescent Sexual Risk Behaviour In South Africa (The Case Of High School Adolescents In Kwazulu- Natal, South Africa)”. Saidi’s thesis examination was held on July 6, 2023 with the title “Factors Influencing the Patterns of Multidrug Resistant Organisms: Among Patients at Dr. Kariadi Hospital, Semarang”. While Maiga Ayub’s thesis exam was held on July 7, 2023 with the title “Antibiotic Practices And Their Associations To Surgical Site Infection Following Cesarean Section: A retrospective case-control study at Mbale regional referral hospital in Eastern Uganda”.

After an intensive question and answer session, the examiners assessed that Lovemore Ringisai, Saidi Ntambi, and Maiga Ayub Hussein had successfully completed their thesis exams. Both students passed and are entitled to receive a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from Diponegoro University.

The success in completing this thesis exam is a testament to their earnestness in pursuing education in the field of epidemiology. They have shown dedication and perseverance in their research that will make meaningful contributions to efforts to address public health issues in their home countries.

By completing this thesis defense, Lovemore Ringisai, Saidi Ntambi, and Maiga Ayub Hussein are ready to continue their careers as qualified epidemiologists.Diponegoro University hopes that these graduates will become experts who play an important role in improving the understanding and management of infectious diseases and tropical diseases in their home countries.
