The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Diponegoro University (Undip) held a Journal Reaccreditation Training and Assistance activity on June 22-24, 2023 at Atria Hotel Magelang. This activity aims to improve the quality of nationally accredited scientific journals (Arjuna-Sinta) within Undip, which expired accreditation and improved accreditation ratings at Diponegoro University.

Journal reaccreditation is an important process performed by accreditation agencies to evaluate and ensure the quality of scientific journals. Journals who expired during their accreditation period needed to prepare themselves to undergo the reaccreditation process to maintain their accreditation status.

This mentoring program involves a team of experts, consisting of experienced lecturers and researchers in various fields of science. The expert team will provide direction, guidance, and input to journals preparing for reaccreditation. They will assist in several important aspects, such as improving the quality of writing, preparing articles that comply with academic standards, and managing the editorial process.

In addition, the program provides training and workshops for journal editors and editorial teams. The training aims to strengthen editors’ competencies in effectively managing the journal, including the peer-review process, manuscript management, and selection of high-quality articles. By improving the skills and knowledge of editors, Undip journals are expected to produce quality and relevant publications.

The Journal of Community Health Epidemiology (JEKK) is a journal managed by Undip’s Master of Epidemiology Study Program. This journal provides a platform for researchers and academics to publish research results related to epidemiology, public health, medicine, and life science.

Through re-accreditation, JEKK is expected to continue to meet high scientific standards and maintain the quality of its publications. JEKK’s reaccreditation will provide confidence to the authors, reviewers, and readers regarding the quality of the publications produced. In addition, JEKK is expected to become a more inclusive platform for researchers from various backgrounds and institutions to share knowledge and experiences in an effort to improve public health.
