Master of Epidemiology Diponegoro University (Undip) again held a proposal exam for foreign students this semester. This proposal exam is the initial stage in the thesis process for foreign epidemiology master students who are studying at Undip.
The proposal exam for Br. Maiga Ayub Hussein, an international class student from Uganda, was held on May 23, 2023 at 13.00 WIB offline in the 5th floor Conference Room, Undip Postgraduate Building A. On this occasion Br. Maiga Ayub Hussein submitted his thesis proposal plan entitled: “Antibiotic Practices And Their Associations To Surgical Site Infection Following Cesarean Section: A retrospective case-control study at Mbale regional referral hospital in Eastern Uganda”. The examination was attended by the supervisors Dr. Mateus Sakundarno, MSc, PhD and Dr. drh. Dwi Sutiningsih, M.Kes and examiner Dr. dr. Selamat Budijitno, M.Si. Med.,Sp.B.,Sp.B(K)Onk and Dr. dr. Muchlis A., Sp.PD-KPTI, FINASIM.
On this occasion, the Head of the Undip Epidemiology Master Study Program, Dr. drh. Dwi Sutiningsih, M.Kes, said that this proposal exam is part of an effort to improve the quality of epidemiology master education at Undip. “We hope that through this proposal exam, international students can produce innovative research ideas that are relevant to emerging health issues,” said Dr. Dwi.
In addition, this proposal exam is also an opportunity for students to interact and discuss directly with supervisors and examiners. This is expected to broaden students’ horizons and knowledge of health issues in Indonesia and the world.
By holding this proposal test, it is hoped that epidemiology master students can produce innovative research and have a positive impact on society. In addition, this is also the first step in establishing collaboration between researchers in the international world and improving the quality of education at Undip.
