Semarang, September 27, 2025 – The Master of Epidemiology Program, Diponegoro University (UNDIP), in collaboration with the Public Health Genomics Lab, once again organized an international guest lecture through the Visiting Professor program. This event featured Prof. Paul Cliff Simon Divis from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), a leading expert in the field of zoonotic malaria.
In a lecture entitled “Molecular Epidemiology of Zoonotic Malaria: Understanding the Complexity of Transmission”, Prof. Divis discussed the complex dynamics of zoonotic malaria transmission, including molecular factors, ecology, and the challenges of disease control in endemic regions. This discussion is highly relevant given the growing global attention to zoonotic malaria, particularly that transmitted by Plasmodium knowlesi species.
The event, held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, was attended by students, lecturers, researchers, and public health practitioners from various institutions. In addition to being held onsite at the Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University, the program was also open to public participation online via the Zoom platform.
This activity is part of the commitment of the Master of Epidemiology Program at UNDIP to expand international networks and enrich students’ academic insights in the field of molecular epidemiology and zoonotic diseases. Through the Visiting Professor program, it is expected that participants will gain new perspectives in research and disease control, particularly those related to vectors and intermediate animal hosts.
Through this activity, the Master of Epidemiology Program at UNDIP further strengthens its role as a center for the development of epidemiological science with a global orientation, collaborative research, and tangible contributions in addressing public health challenges in Indonesia and worldwide.
