Master of Epidemiology Diponegoro University (Undip) developed healthy village education through the One Health approach in Kembangan Village, Demak Regency which was held on December 19, 2023. The purpose of this development is to increase community readiness in mitigating public health threats originating from animals and the environment.

Sustainable Development through the One Health approach is a development activity that meets the needs of life by considering the quality of life for humans, animals, and plants or food, as well as the environment. If there is no readiness from the community regarding the dangers of diseases caused by animals and plants or food, it will have an impact on sustainable development in the village so that the quality of life of humans, animals, plants or food, and the environment decreases. Kembangan Village, Demak Regency was chosen because there has been no socialization and development related to Suistainable Development education through the One Health approach.

Head of the Epidemiology Master Study Program at Diponegoro University, Dr. drh. Dwi sutiningsih, M. Kes, appreciated the development of this healthy village. “This program is a form of positive contribution of Master of Epidemiology in preventing a better quality of life by implementing a healthy village in Kembangan Village through the One Health approach to be aware of the occurrence of diseases in the community caused by animals and the environment.” she said.

With the development of this healthy village, it is hoped that it can provide knowledge related to sustainable development through the One Health approach so that the community in Kembangan Village, Demak Regency is able to be aware of the disease by applying the One Health approach.
